Hyderabad: A fresh security scare has emerged at the Madras Regiment camp in Secunderabad, after 160 detonators were found near the facility under the limits of Bollarum Police Station on Thursday, September 3.
The detonators were found in eight bundles inside a light green plastic bucket, placed near the wall behind the camp's firing range. Police are now investigating how the devices came to be there.
The discovery comes just two days after a major theft was reported at the same facility. According to local reports, one INSAS rifle, four AK-47 rifles, six pistols and a quantity of ammunition were stolen from the camp on Sunday night, August 30.
The theft came to light when Army personnel noticed that several weapons were missing. Army officials alerted their senior officers and subsequently informed the Bollarum police, who have begun their investigation into both incidents.<
