The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) women’s wing staged a silent protest in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar on Tuesday, November 3, against the rising prices of essential commodities, alleging that the increase was putting pressure on household budgets.
The protest march began at NTR Nagar Market and proceeded towards LB Nagar Crossroads. LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy also participated in the demonstration.
BRS Highlights Increase in Household Expenses
During the protest, BRS women leaders displayed a comparative chart showing the prices of essential commodities in 2023, when the BRS was in power, and in 2026 under the Congress government.
They highlighted increases in the prices of rice, cooking oil, LPG cylinders, milk, sugar, red gram, eggs, onions and tomatoes.
The leaders alleged that rising prices were making it increasingly difficult for middle-class and lower-income families to manage their monthly expenses. They also said women were facing additional pressure while handling household budgets.
Demand for Congress’s Six Guarantees
The protesters called on the Congress government to fulfil the six guarantees announced ahead of the Assembly elections. They also demanded immediate steps to bring essential commodity prices under control.
Several senior BRS women’s wing leaders, party representatives and workers took part in the demonstration.
The protest reflects the BRS's criticism of the state government's handling of household expenses and its demand for action on price increases.
