Congress, Left Parties to Hold Protest Rally Against SIR in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Congress and Left parties have decided to organize a joint protest rally in Telangana against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Leaders of the parties expressed concerns over the voter verification exercise and alleged that the process could lead to eligible voters facing difficulties during future elections. They said the rally aims to create awareness and ensure that every eligible citizen's voting rights are protected.

According to party leaders, the protest will bring together workers and supporters from different political organizations to voice concerns over the implementation of the SIR process. They have demanded transparency and safeguards to prevent any irregularities during the revision of voter lists.

The Congress has been actively raising objections over the exercise in recent weeks and has called for closer monitoring of the voter verification process. Party leaders maintain that electoral rolls must be updated fairly and without affecting genuine voters.

The proposed rally is expected to intensify the political debate surrounding the SIR process in Telangana, with opposition parties seeking greater accountability and clarity from election authorities.
