Haj 2027 Applications: Has India Announced the Final Deadline Extension?
New Delhi: The Haj Committee of India has given prospective pilgrims one final opportunity to complete their applications for Haj 2027, extending the online submission deadline until 11:59 pm on Friday, July 24, 2026.
The revised schedule offers limited additional time to applicants who could not submit their forms earlier, particularly those awaiting the issuance of their passports. The committee said requests for an extension had been received from several State and Union Territory Haj Committees, along with representations from intending pilgrims.
Officials have made it clear that this is the final extension. Applicants who miss the July 24 deadline should not expect another relaxation, making it important to complete the registration process and verify all submitted information before the online window closes.
Why was the Haj application deadline extended?
The extension was primarily linked to delays in passport processing. A valid passport is an essential document for completing the Haj application, and several applicants reportedly remained unable to register because their passports were still being issued.
The representations also came from states and Union Territories where the number of applications remained below the allocated quota. The additional time is therefore intended to help eligible pilgrims complete their forms while allowing state committees to improve participation before the selection process begins.
Applications for Haj through the committee system are handled online through the Haj Committee of India’s official portal and related digital services. The official website also provides registration facilities and contact information for applicants requiring assistance.
Digital Qurrah scheduled for July 30
Once the application stage closes, the Haj Committee will conduct the online Qurrah, or digital random selection, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11 am.
The draw will take place at Haj House, the committee’s headquarters in Mumbai, and is expected to be livestreamed through the official Haj Committee website.
The Qurrah is used when the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available Haj quota. After the digital draw, the committee will publish separate lists showing applicants who have been provisionally selected and those placed on the waiting list.
Applicants are also expected to receive the result through SMS on the mobile numbers registered with their applications.
Selected pilgrims must pay ₹1,52,300
Pilgrims receiving provisional selection will need to deposit an advance Haj amount of ₹1,52,300 on or before August 10, 2026.
Payment within the announced period is necessary to retain the provisional selection. Applicants should therefore monitor the official website and their registered mobile numbers after the Qurrah rather than relying on unofficial messages or social-media posts.
The advance payment is only one stage of the process. Selected pilgrims may subsequently be required to complete document verification, medical formalities and additional payments according to instructions issued by the Haj Committee.
State committees given scrutiny deadline
State and Union Territory Haj Committees have been directed to widely publicise the revised schedule so that applicants are aware of the final opportunity.
They have also been asked to finish scrutinising applications and generating cover numbers by July 25, 2026, one day after the application window closes.
A cover generally represents an individual applicant or a group applying together. Applicants should ensure that names, passport details, contact numbers and other information match their official documents before submission, as mistakes may create complications during scrutiny.
What applicants should do now
Prospective pilgrims who have not completed their applications should avoid waiting until the final hours. They should keep their passport and supporting documents ready, complete the form through official channels and save a copy of the submitted application and cover number.
Applicants should also remain alert to fraudulent websites, payment links or messages claiming to guarantee selection. The Qurrah is a digital random-selection process, and no private individual can lawfully promise a confirmed place in exchange for money.
With the committee ruling out another extension, July 24 is now the decisive date for those planning to apply through the Haj Committee of India for Haj 2027.
