Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police to Use MVDS for Traffic Enforcement on ORR

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M Ramesh on Friday, September 18, reviewed advanced traffic monitoring and enforcement systems and said the Multi Violation Detection System (MVDS) would be deployed to detect traffic violations on the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Ramesh visited the Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) Control Room, where he reviewed real-time surveillance of traffic movement on the ORR and examined the technology being used for automated violation detection and road safety monitoring.

Officials briefed the Commissioner on how vehicle movement across the ORR is monitored in real time from the control room. The system enables authorities to observe traffic conditions and identify violations through surveillance technology.

During the visit, Ramesh particularly reviewed the newly installed single-camera-based MVDS. The system is designed to identify multiple categories of traffic violations using a single camera and video analytics.

The technology is expected to support automated enforcement and improve the efficiency of traffic monitoring on the ORR. It can assist authorities in identifying violations without relying solely on conventional traffic enforcement methods.

The Commissioner also examined the technical infrastructure available for traffic surveillance, automated enforcement and road safety. He discussed with officials ways to use advanced technology to improve traffic discipline and reduce the risk of road accidents.

Cyberabad Police and HGCL are coordinating on the use of technology for traffic management and road safety measures on the ORR, officials said.
