Hyderabad: An elderly man was allegedly beaten to death following a dispute over money for purchasing liquor at Kalpana Junction in Kawadiguda on Sunday, November 1.
The victim was identified as Prakash. According to the available information, the incident occurred when Prakash approached a youth who was consuming liquor outside Sai Restaurant and Bar and asked him for money to buy alcohol.
The request reportedly angered the youth, who allegedly punched Prakash several times. The elderly man collapsed following the assault and died.
Police Register Murder Case
Following the incident, Prakash was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where his body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
Confirming the case, Gandhinagar police told Siasat.com that a murder case had been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said an investigation was underway. Further details about the accused and the circumstances leading to the assault are awaited.
