Hyderabad: Six Arrested With 425 Kg Ganja on Outer Ring Road

Hyderabad: Dundigal police arrested six alleged drug peddlers and seized 425 kg of ganja during a vehicle interception on the Outer Ring Road on Friday, September 18.

According to police, the ganja was being transported from Odisha to Solapur in Maharashtra in a DCM vehicle. Police seized the contraband along with the vehicle and registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in Telangana.

In a separate operation on September 12, Hyderabad Police seized 21 kg of ganja and arrested four alleged inter-state drug peddlers in the Habeeb Nagar area.

Police said the operation followed information about two alleged ganja suppliers selling the drug in Mangerbasti. A police team subsequently conducted a raid at the suspected location.

The four arrested in that case were identified as Maharashtra residents Sandeep Nandha Kishore Bhongade, 38, and Rahul Rajesh Patil, 24, along with Hyderabad residents Umesh Kamble, 29, and Suraj Kamble, 24.

Further investigation is underway in both cases to establish the source of the contraband and identify other persons allegedly involved in the supply network.
