Hyderabad Traffic Police have stepped up preparations for the upcoming Ganesh festival and immersion processions, with a clear focus on smooth traffic flow, public safety and effective crowd management across the city.

Senior officials have directed zonal teams to identify and inspect idol procession routes, verify clearances at flyovers and underpasses, and prepare detailed traffic diversion plans well ahead of the festival.

Special attention is being given to Ganesh idol sales points and pandals. Additional crowd management arrangements are also being planned specifically for devotees visiting the Khairatabad Ganesh idol, which draws one of the largest gatherings in the city each year.

The Traffic Police will deploy adequate manpower and set up barricades, signage, temporary toilets, parking facilities and public address systems at key locations. Officers have also been instructed to ensure that pending road repairs and pothole-filling works are completed before the processions get under way.

Drones will be deployed along key procession routes to monitor movement and assist in managing both traffic and crowds in real time. Arrangements for bandobust personnel and VIP movements were also reviewed as part of the overall planning.
