Kochi: A woman was allegedly drugged and gang-raped after being lured to Kalamassery on the promise of a job as a spa manager, police said on Monday.
The incident allegedly took place on October 2, with four people suspected of involvement in the assault, according to police. The accused also allegedly recorded videos of the woman.
Police have arrested two suspects, identified as Sreeraj and Jithu, and they have been remanded to judicial custody. Police said another woman is also suspected to be among those involved.
According to the police, the survivor informed her husband about the incident before approaching the authorities and filing a complaint.
She is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital in the area.
Police said an investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and identify the role of all those allegedly involved in the incident. Further details are awaited.
