Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a DBS Bank ATM kiosk in Kukatpally on Sunday night after a suspected electrical short circuit, officials said.
The incident took place near Vaddepalli Enclave, where local residents noticed smoke coming from the ATM centre and immediately alerted the Fire Department. People nearby also took initial precautions to stop the flames from spreading before firefighters reached the spot.
Fire and emergency personnel responded quickly and managed to extinguish the fire within a short time. Their timely action prevented damage to nearby shops and buildings.
Officials said the ATM kiosk suffered damage in the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that an electrical fault may have triggered the fire, although the exact cause will be confirmed after a technical inspection.
No injuries or casualties were reported. Authorities are assessing the damage and conducting further investigation into the incident.
