<p>Imphal: Manipur Police, operating alongside Army units, carried out two separate security operations in Churachandpur district on September 11, arresting three armed cadres and recovering a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and tactical equipment.</p>
<p>The first operation was conducted in the general area of Munpi village under Henglep Sub-Division, with a combined team of Churachandpur District Police and the Assam Rifles. Three armed cadres were apprehended and identified as Khual, 35, of Munpi village in Henglep Sub-Division; Money Chiru, 30, of Nungrai village in Bishnupur district; and Thanglanmuan, 25, of Nghathal village in Churachandpur district.</p>
<p>The operation led to the recovery of multiple assault rifles, including one 7.62 mm HKG 3 assault rifle, one 5.56 mm A1 assault rifle, one 5.56 mm M22 assault rifle, and two 7.62 mm AK-47 rifles. Security personnel also recovered seven magazines of different arms, 298 rounds of ammunition across various calibres, and five tactical pouches.</p>
<p>In a separate operation on the same day, Churachandpur District Police and 2 JAK LI launched a joint operation in the adjoining areas between Nalon and Thinghingjang villages. The operation was based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of illegal arms and ammunition in the general area of Thangjing Ridge.</p>
<p>The second operation resulted in a wide-ranging seizure. Personnel recovered two 82 mm mortars, one locally made rocket, one MP5 automatic rifle fitted with a scope, four 9 mm carbines with magazines, and two pistols with magazines. Four single-barrel rifles, four bolt-action rifles, two mortar bombs, two pump-action weapons, and four pump-action shells were also seized.</p>
<p>In addition to the firearms and ammunition, the team recovered one radio set, two BPJ harnesses, and one pair of combat boots. No arrests were reported in the second operation, which was focused on clearing illegal arms from the area.</p>
<p>Manipur Police confirmed that all recoveries were made during the joint operations conducted on September 11.</p>
