Jagtial: Two students were injured after a hired Road Transport Corporation bus collided with a school bus in Telangana’s Jagtial district on July 28, triggering panic among children and their parents.
The school bus was carrying 26 students when the collision occurred. According to the available report, two children sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical attention. The remaining students escaped without physical injuries.
The impact damaged both vehicles. The front section of the RTC bus was reportedly damaged more severely, while the school bus suffered comparatively minor damage. Despite the limited number of injuries, the incident caused considerable alarm because of the number of children travelling in the vehicle.
Parents rushed to the accident location after receiving information about the crash. Many were visibly distressed and took their children home from the scene once authorities confirmed they were safe.
Police said preliminary information indicated that the RTC bus may have suffered a brake failure before hitting the school vehicle. However, the precise sequence of events and the reason for the reported mechanical problem remain under investigation.
