Two Telangana Police Inspectors Suspended Over Corruption and Harassment Allegations

Adilabad: Two inspectors of the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) 2nd Battalion at Yapalaguda have been suspended following allegations of corruption, harassment of personnel and administrative irregularities.

The suspension orders against Inspector A. Ramesh and Inspector M. Naresh were issued by higher authorities on Thursday.

According to the allegations, the two officials were involved in irregularities relating to staff transfers, duty allocations, permissions, construction works, fuel consumption, medicine purchases and welfare activities. They were also accused of demanding bribes in connection with official responsibilities.

Attempt-to-Murder Case Against Inspector

Separately, an attempt-to-murder case was registered against Inspector Naresh following a complaint filed by RSI Rasam Rakesh, who serves in the same battalion.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on September 24, when Rakesh was travelling home on his two-wheeler near the battalion. A jeep allegedly driven by Naresh rammed into him, leaving him injured.

Rakesh reportedly approached the authorities on September 25 and lodged a complaint.

Inquiry Into Alleged Irregularities Underway

The complaint further alleged that Naresh held a grudge against Rakesh and other personnel for raising concerns about alleged irregularities within the battalion.

The staff members had reportedly submitted complaints to senior authorities seeking an investigation into alleged corruption and administrative misconduct.

An inquiry is already underway into suspected financial misappropriation and graft within the battalion.

The suspension of the two inspectors and the criminal case against Naresh mark separate developments in the ongoing investigation. Further details are awaited as authorities examine the allegations.
