BRS Releases Chargesheet, Slams Congress Over 1,000 Days of Broken Promises

The BRS on Wednesday released a formal chargesheet against the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of failing on every major election promise and delivering what the party called 1,000 days of distress to the people of the state.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao, flanked by senior leaders T Harish Rao, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talsani Srinivas Yadav and others, released the chargesheet at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Addressing the gathering, Rama Rao said the Congress had promised 420 guarantees and 13 declarations, including six prominent guarantees, but had failed to fully implement its major commitments. "The Congress promised heaven within 100 days, but delivered hell for the last 1,000 days," he said, characterising the Congress administration as “incompetence Pro Max, corruption Ultra Max and anarchy iMax.”
On finances, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government had accumulated Rs 4.5 lakh crore in debt without completing any new major development projects. He pointed out that while the party had promised a Rs 50,000 crore farm loan waiver, only around Rs 20,000 crore had been released.
He also slammed the government for neglecting farmers, saying the Rythu Bandhu scheme had been stopped and irrigation facilities were being denied, even as funds were being spent on programmes such as football matches. He warned that the BRS would oppose any move harming Telangana's interests in Krishna and Godavari river waters.
On the jobs front, Rama Rao alleged that the promised two lakh positions in the first year had not materialised and called the government's job calendar a "jobless calendar." He also flagged pending fee reimbursement dues, unfulfilled women's welfare promises, delayed pensions and issues concerning students and unemployed youth.
The former Minister further criticised the government over law and order, alleging attacks on protesting unemployed youth and farmers and accusing it of targeting Opposition leaders.
To press its demands, the BRS announced a week-long statewide campaign from September 2 to 8, covering protests and the distribution of "Baaki cards," listing the unfulfilled promises of the Congress government.
