CBI Names Aaditya Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray in Disha Salian FIR

<p>The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a First Information Report naming Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and his father, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, among individuals whose roles require investigation in the case surrounding the passing of Disha Salian. The FIR follows a direction from the Bombay High Court to conduct a thorough probe into the circumstances of her passing.</p>
<p>Salian, a former talent manager, was found unresponsive on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in Mumbai. Her passing had originally been recorded as an Accidental Passing Report. She passed away just days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found deceased at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020.</p>
<p>Beyond the Thackerays, the FIR names actors Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, along with Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty. The CBI says the roles of all named individuals require investigation in connection with the commission of the principal offences, criminal conspiracy, the subsequent creation and propagation of a false self-harm narrative, and the suppression, destruction or fabrication of evidence.</p>
<p>Also named in the FIR are Aaditya Thackeray's bodyguards, former Mumbai police officer Sachin Waze, former Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, then Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, and several other serving or former police personnel. Officers associated with Malvani Police Station, doctors and staff linked to the delayed post-mortem, and officers of the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina, including Assistant Chemical Analyser NP Bhale, are also included.</p>
<p>The FIR further names security guards of Regent Galaxy Building, including Sushil Kumar Yadav and Shivmurad Gautam alias Munna, as well as senior members of the SIT and other senior police officers under whose supervision the earlier investigation was conducted.</p>
<p>The Bombay High Court's Division Bench of Justices Bharti Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande had earlier raised serious questions over the fact that only an Accidental Passing Report had been registered despite claims by Salian's family that she had been fatally attacked. The bench also noted that Salian's family had not received copies of her post-mortem report or the ADR even five years after her passing.</p>
<p>Following the court's direction, Salian's father Satish Salian told ANI on Friday that he had shared the full details of his daughter's passing with investigating authorities and expressed confidence the probe would move forward.</p>
<p>"I stated the facts exactly as they were; I told them everything that happened to my daughter. I listed all the names: Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the bodyguards. They noted everything down," he told ANI.</p>
<p>Satish added that investigators had assured him they would act on the information he provided. "The truth cannot be defeated. God stands where the truth is; that is why justice will be served," he said.</p>
