Ghaziabad Student Alleges Caste Abuse, Assault by Two Government School Teachers

Ghaziabad: A Grade 11 Dalit student in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district has accused two teachers at a government inter college of physically assaulting him and making caste-based remarks. Police have initiated an inquiry into the allegations.

The alleged incident took place at the Government Inter College in Tyodhi 13 Biswa village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bhojpur police station.

The student, identified as Ruban, alleged that two teachers repeatedly threatened to remove his name from the school register and subjected him to humiliation. He reportedly informed his family about the alleged mistreatment on Wednesday, October 28, after another incident involving caste-based abuse.

Following the complaint, Ruban’s family, accompanied by Azad Samaj Party workers, approached the Bhojpur police station and submitted a written representation. They sought action against the teachers accused of assault and caste-based harassment.

College Principal Denies Allegations

College principal Vidyavati rejected the student’s claims, describing the allegations as false. She maintained that all students are treated equally at the institution and denied that Ruban had faced any abuse.

Police Begin Investigation

Siddharth Gautam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Modinagar, said an investigation had been initiated into the complaint. He added that further action would be taken after the preliminary inquiry.

The allegations against the teachers have not yet been independently established. The outcome of the police investigation is awaited.
