Mahabubnagar: Farmers have protested against the Jadcherla police following allegations that a farmer was assaulted while seeking compensation for land acquired for the construction of the Uddandapur reservoir.
The farmer, identified as Narsimhulu from Uddandapur village, had reportedly given up 1.5 acres of land under Survey No. 133/A for the reservoir project. He alleged that compensation for half an acre remained unpaid and that the amount had been deposited into another person's bank account.
Farmer's Compensation Dispute
According to the available information, Narsimhulu had approached Revenue officials to resolve the compensation issue, but his grievance remained unresolved. With the payment still pending, he reportedly decided to cultivate the land to earn a livelihood.
The situation escalated when a private construction company involved in the reservoir works alerted the local police. Police personnel subsequently arrived at the site and confronted the farmer.
Videos Circulate on Social Media
Videos purportedly showing police personnel dragging Narsimhulu by his collar and verbally abusing him have circulated on social media, triggering anger among farmers.
The incident has prompted farmers to question the alleged conduct of the police and demand accountability for the actions of the personnel involved.
