Gujarat: Two Killed After Range Rover Hits Cattle on Tharad-Deesa Highway

Gujarat: Two men were killed and another was critically injured after a Range Rover Discovery hit an animal and crashed into a road divider on the Tharad-Deesa highway in Banaskantha district on Sunday.

The vehicle, bearing a GJ03 registration number, reportedly hit the animal while travelling on the highway before colliding with the divider.

The two deceased were identified as 28-year-old Divyajeet Dhandhal from Amreli and 27-year-old Yuvrajsinh Rathod from Rajkot. They died at the scene of the accident.

Their 28-year-old friend, Hardeep Singh Jadeja of Rajkot, sustained critical injuries. He was airlifted to Ahmedabad for further treatment.

The accident has again highlighted the risks posed by stray cattle on busy roads, particularly on highways where vehicles travel at high speeds. It also underscores the potential severity of crashes even when occupants are travelling in vehicles equipped with substantial safety features.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the presence of the animal on the highway and the circumstances leading to the collision.
