Gurugram: A man driving a Mahindra Thar allegedly rammed a Rapido cab multiple times in Sector 89 following a dispute with two of his friends. The incident was captured on video and later circulated on social media.
According to the complaint filed with police, four friends travelling in a Delhi-registered Thar reached Sector 89 late at night, where a dispute reportedly broke out among them. Two of the men subsequently got out of the SUV and booked a Rapido cab to return home.
When the cab arrived and the two passengers got inside, the Thar driver allegedly followed them. A video of the incident shows the SUV repeatedly reversing and crashing into the cab.
The cab driver can be heard asking the Thar driver to stop as the vehicle continues to hit the cab. The repeated collisions caused significant damage to the front portion of the cab.
The two passengers and the cab driver escaped serious injuries, with the vehicle’s airbags deploying during the collisions. Witnesses recorded the incident on their mobile phones, and the footage subsequently surfaced on social media.
Following the incident, the cab driver approached police at Kherki Daula police station and reported the matter. The Thar driver and another man who was accompanying him allegedly left the scene before police arrived.
Police have registered a case based on the cab driver’s complaint and launched an investigation. Officers are working to identify and trace the accused using the registration details of the Delhi-registered SUV.
