Hyderabad Man Passes Away in Massachusetts, Family Seeks Jaishankar's Help

<p>A 27-year-old Hyderabad resident has passed away in Lowell, Massachusetts, with his family calling on External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to help bring his remains back home.</p>
<p>Mohammed Jaber Hussain, originally from Santoshnagar in Hyderabad, passed away on Monday, September 14. His parents subsequently reached out to Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan for support. In a formal appeal to the External Affairs Ministry, Khan noted that Hussain's family belongs to the economically weaker section and would need assistance in repatriating his remains.</p>
<p>Khan has urged the Centre to direct either the Indian Embassy in the United States or the Consulate General of India in New York to coordinate with the relevant US authorities and assist the grieving family.</p>
<p>According to documents submitted to Khan by the family, Hussain had moved to the US in 2021 and completed a Masters in Civil Engineering in Connecticut. He had been working in Lowell and got married in August 2026 in Texas.</p>
<p>Hussain last spoke with his family on the morning of his passing. His father, Zakir, told Siasat.com, "Jaber spoke to his mother at 8 am on Monday, and he sounded fine at that time. At 5:15 pm, Jaber's wife informed us that he had passed away while sleeping."</p>
<p>Zakir said he is currently trying to obtain a visa to travel to the United States. The cause of his son's passing remains unknown at this time.</p>
