Hyderabad: Revanth Reddy Orders Child Online Safety Framework

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed state officials to prepare a comprehensive Child Online Safety Framework aimed at protecting children from cybercrimes and ensuring access to justice.

The framework will be prepared in consultation with the Telangana High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGSLSA), Revanth Reddy said while addressing the National Legal Services Authority’s Southern Regional Conference in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The conference focused on justice for children in cyberspace. Union Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal and Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh also attended the programme.

The Chief Minister urged parents to remain engaged with their children’s online activities and discuss what they encounter on the internet without being judgmental. He said every child and parent should be aware of the helpline numbers 1930 for cybercrime complaints and 1098 for child-related assistance.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted existing measures for women and child safety, including Bharosa Centres, which provide police assistance, medical support, legal aid and counselling. He said Hyderabad has a Child Friendly Court and that the Telangana Police Women Safety Wing operates SHE-Bharosa Cyber Labs to address online threats involving women and children.

He also referred to the CybHER initiative, which is aimed at helping students and teachers improve their awareness of online safety.

The Telangana government has previously outlined plans for a statewide Child Online Safety Framework covering cyber-safety education, parental awareness and response mechanisms against cyberbullying and online exploitation.

During the programme, Revanth Reddy also launched the TGSLSA Freedom from Bonded Labour – Legal Aid, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-integration Scheme, 2026. The initiative is intended to provide a simpler mechanism for reporting bonded labour cases and increase awareness about the legal rights of workers.

The Chief Minister said the government would continue working with legal services authorities to extend legal assistance and awareness programmes across the State.
