Karimnagar Lorry Driver Allegedly Killed by Wife Over Family Dispute

Karimnagar: A 43-year-old lorry driver was allegedly killed by his wife following a family dispute at Gattududdenapalli village in Manakondur mandal late on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Tappa Ramesh. According to police, Ramesh had an argument with his wife, Sumalatha, over a family issue around 1 am. During the argument, Sumalatha allegedly attacked him with a brick, striking him on the head.

Ramesh reportedly died at the spot. Neighbours discovered his body in a pool of blood early on Tuesday morning and alerted the authorities.

Police said preliminary information suggested that Ramesh had been consuming alcohol for some time and that domestic disputes had reportedly occurred between the couple. The exact circumstances leading to the fatal assault are being investigated.

Sumalatha, who is originally from Godavarikhani, had been married to Ramesh for around 20 years. The couple has two daughters and a son. Police said she surrendered herself after the incident.

Following a complaint from Ramesh’s parents, police registered a case against Sumalatha and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
