Hyderabad's LPG cylinder agencies are seeing a sharp rise in footfall as the August 23 deadline for completing e-KYC or Aadhaar biometric authentication for domestic LPG connections draws near.
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) including Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL have been sending messages to domestic LPG customers urging them to complete the verification process. One such message confirmed that the deadline had been extended to August 23, 2026, from the earlier cutoff of August 16. The reminders appear to have spurred a large number of consumers into action, with hundreds visiting agencies across the city each day to get their authentication done.
For those who prefer not to travel, the e-KYC can be completed from home using a mobile phone. Consumers need to install two apps: 'AadhaarFaceRD' and their respective distributor's app. Once both are in place, the biometric authentication can be carried out without stepping out.
With the August 23 deadline now just days away, Hyderabad's domestic LPG consumers are being urged to complete the process, either online or by visiting their nearest agency, at the earliest to avoid any disruption to their connection.
