Maharashtra Family Tragedy: Teen, Parents All Lose Lives at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Hill

A desperate three-hour effort by villagers, police, and family members to save a young man from the edge of a hill in Maharashtra ended in unbearable loss on Friday, when all three members of one family lost their lives at Khavda Hill in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

The 18-year-old, a resident of the Devlai area, reached the edge of Khavda Hill at around 10 am and began threatening to end his life. For nearly three hours, his mother, local villagers, and police officials present at the spot pleaded with him to step away. They urged him to think about his future and his parents. He remained unmoved.

His father, who had initially been appealing to him from below, climbed up the hill in the final 15 to 20 minutes and tried to speak directly with his son. At around 1 pm, as the teenager continued to move closer to the edge, the father reached out to grab him. The two lost their balance and fell.

Moments later, overcome with panic, the mother also fell from the hill.

All three family members passed away. The entire ordeal, from the teenager's arrival at the edge to the devastating conclusion, was captured on video by tourists and locals who had gathered at the site.

Police officials were present throughout and made repeated efforts to bring the teenager to safety, but were unable to do so.
