Hyderabad: The Nampally Court on Monday adjourned the hearing in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to July 6 after some of the accused did not appear before the court. Actor Allu Arjun, who is named as Accused No. 11 in the case, sought exemption from appearing in person and requested permission to participate virtually.
According to reports, Allu Arjun's legal team informed the court that the actor was unable to attend the hearing due to professional commitments outside Hyderabad. His lawyers represented him during the proceedings and submitted a request regarding his appearance.
The case is linked to the tragic stampede that occurred during a special screening of "Pushpa 2" at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad in December 2024. The incident claimed the life of a woman, while her young son suffered serious injuries.
Police have filed a chargesheet against 23 individuals in connection with the case. The court is expected to continue proceedings on July 6, when all accused are likely to appear before the court.
