Sangareddy: An elderly couple allegedly died by suicide in Chapta-K village of Narayankhed mandal on Wednesday after their three sons reportedly refused to take care of them, despite the couple having earlier approached the police with a complaint.
The deceased were identified as Narsi Reddy, 75, and Anjamma, 70. Police retrieved their bodies from a well near their agricultural land with the assistance of local residents.
According to the preliminary information, the couple had previously complained to Narayankhed police about the alleged neglect by their sons. Their family situation reportedly remained unresolved, following which the couple allegedly took the extreme step.
The bodies were shifted to the government hospital in Narayankhed for postmortem examination.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
