Hyderabad: Schools and colleges across Hyderabad will remain closed on Thursday, June 26, in observance of Muharram (Ashura).
The holiday is included in the Telangana government's official holiday calendar. Government educational institutions will remain closed, and many private schools and colleges are also expected to observe the holiday.
Muharram is one of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar. Ashura is observed with religious gatherings and processions in several parts of Hyderabad and Telangana.
Students and parents are advised to check with their respective schools and colleges for any changes in academic schedules or examinations.
Normal classes are expected to resume after the holiday unless educational institutions issue further notices.
