Siddipet: Woman Surrenders After Allegedly Killing Husband in Property Dispute

Hyderabad: A 43-year-old man was allegedly killed by his wife following a property dispute at Sevalal Maharaj Thanda in Akkannapet mandal of Telangana’s Siddipet district on Sunday, October 11. The woman later surrendered to the police, according to officials.

The deceased was identified as Banoth Bhagavan, a native of Malkapet Thanda in Narmetta mandal of Jangaon district. Police identified his wife as Maloth Rajeshwari.

According to the police, the couple had been married for around 15 years. Both had been married previously, and the family has three children, including Rajeshwari’s daughter from her first marriage.

Property Dispute Behind Alleged Killing

Investigators said the couple had frequently argued over property matters. Bhagavan reportedly wanted a house in Hanumakonda, belonging to Rajeshwari’s daughter from her earlier marriage, to be divided equally among all three children.

Rajeshwari allegedly opposed the proposal, leading to continuing disagreements between the couple.

Argument Turns Fatal

According to the police account, Rajeshwari had been staying at her parents’ house for the past few days. Bhagavan allegedly arrived there on Sunday in an intoxicated condition, and an argument broke out between them.

Police said Rajeshwari allegedly threw chilli powder into his eyes, tied him to a tree and struck him on the head with a metal rod. The incident reportedly took place in the presence of their children.

Woman Surrenders to Police

Following the incident, Rajeshwari surrendered to the Akkannapet police. Officials said a murder case had been registered against her under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police have not disclosed further details regarding whether anyone else was involved, stating that the investigation is ongoing.

The allegations are subject to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
