Students Storm Telangana Assembly Over Fee Dues, ABVP and TRSV Activists Detained

<p>Multiple student organisations descended on the Telangana Assembly premises on Saturday, pushing through a sustained protest over the state government's delay in releasing fee reimbursement dues and scholarships.</p>
<p>Activists from the ABVP and TRSV raised slogans against the government as they attempted to march towards the Assembly. Police intercepted the groups before they could reach the premises and took them into custody.</p>
<p>The protesters are pressing for three core demands: the immediate release of all pending fee reimbursement dues and scholarships, the withdrawal of GO No. 97, and resolution of a range of other student grievances.</p>
<p>GO No. 97 is a government order that merges polytechnic colleges with Young India Skills University, an institution established under a public-private partnership model. Student groups have opposed this merger, arguing it works against the interests of students enrolled in polytechnic programmes.</p>
<p>TRSV president Ramu Yadav said the government was neglecting students' problems. He warned that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would have to pay a political price if the demands continued to be ignored.</p>
