Hyderabad: Around 60% of the 92.87 lakh notices issued to electors under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls have been distributed across Telangana, Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy said on Friday.
Reddy reviewed the SIR process in the Tandur Assembly constituency of Vikarabad district, where he inspected the work being carried out by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
During the review, the CEO examined the distribution of notices and the collection of supporting documents from voters. He also assessed the difficulties faced by BLOs during field-level implementation and checked whether voters were encountering any problems with the process.
Reddy directed BLOs to ensure that voter registration and related procedures are carried out properly without causing inconvenience to eligible voters.
He urged people who have received SIR notices to submit the supporting documents specified in their respective notices within the required process.
The CEO also appealed to every eligible citizen to register as a voter. Applications can be submitted online or with assistance from BLOs in their respective areas.
The Election Commission's Voter Services Portal also provides online voter-registration and electoral-roll services, including access to SIR-related information.
The SIR exercise is aimed at reviewing and updating electoral rolls, with field-level verification being undertaken through BLOs across Telangana.
