Telangana: ACB Catches ST Hostel Warden Taking Rs 14,000 Bribe

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday, September 18, arrested an ST Boys Hostel warden after allegedly catching him accepting a Rs 14,000 bribe in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

The accused was identified as Bukya Valusimha, who serves as the warden of the ST Boys Hostel in Palvancha and was also functioning as the in-charge of the ST Boys Hostel at Satyanarayanapuram in Charla mandal.

According to the ACB, Valusimha allegedly demanded money from a complainant in exchange for an official favour.

The complainant had reportedly remained absent from duty for six days in August 2026. The accused allegedly demanded the bribe to avoid recording the absence as unauthorised, which could have resulted in adverse consequences for the complainant's service.

The ACB further alleged that Valusimha sought the money in return for not creating difficulties or obstructing the preparation of the complainant's salary bills in the future.

According to investigators, the initial demand was Rs 15,000. Following negotiations, the amount was allegedly reduced to Rs 14,000.

The ACB's Khammam Range unit conducted the operation at the Satyanarayanapuram hostel, where Valusimha was allegedly caught accepting the money.

The tainted cash was recovered from his possession. Chemical tests conducted on both of his hands reportedly returned positive results, according to the ACB.

The anti-corruption agency alleged that the accused had acted improperly and dishonestly in the discharge of his official duties to obtain an undue advantage.

Valusimha was arrested and is scheduled to be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Warangal.

The case remains under investigation.
