# Hyderabad: Man Arrested for Allegedly Exploiting Woman Constable on Marriage Promise

Hyderabad: Uppal police have arrested a 33-year-old man accused of sexually exploiting a woman constable on the pretext of marriage and cheating her of Rs 1.10 lakh.

The accused, identified as P Surya Narayana, is a resident of Chilukanagar. According to police, he allegedly created a fake profile on a matrimonial website and claimed to be working as a section engineer with Indian Railways.

Investigators said a woman constable from Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district believed the details provided in the profile. The accused allegedly gained her trust by promising to marry her and subsequently established a physical relationship with her.

Woman Constable Files Complaint

Police alleged that Surya Narayana later threatened the woman and extorted Rs 1.10 lakh from her. After realising that she had allegedly been deceived, the woman approached Uppal police and lodged a complaint.

A case was registered, and police took action against the accused following the complaint.

Accused Remanded to Judicial Custody

Surya Narayana was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Thursday, police said.

The allegations are part of the ongoing criminal case, and the accused's guilt remains to be established through the legal process.
