BRS Protests in Nalgonda Over Alleged Irregularities in Indiramma Housing Scheme

Nalgonda: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders staged a protest outside the Haliya police station on Monday, alleging corruption and irregularities in the allocation of houses under the Telangana government's Indiramma housing scheme.

The protest was led by former BRS MLA Nomula Bhagath, with party leaders organising a road blockade on the Kodad-Jadcherla National Highway. The demonstration disrupted traffic, bringing vehicle movement on the route to a standstill.

BRS Alleges Unfair House Allotments

BRS leaders accused the Haliya Municipal Commissioner of irregularities in the distribution of Indiramma houses.

They alleged that some houses were being allotted to people who already owned residential properties, while economically weaker families who genuinely needed housing were being left out.

The protesters demanded action over the alleged irregularities and called for transparency in identifying beneficiaries.

Allegations of Ward-Level Discrimination

The BRS leaders also alleged that the Haliya Municipal Chairperson and Municipal Commissioner had not allocated funds to the town's fourth ward, represented by the party, for the past year.

They claimed that the ward had been neglected and demanded that development funds be released.

The allegations have not been independently established. Further clarification from the municipal authorities is awaited.
