Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M Ramesh has suspended an Armed Reserve constable after he posted objectionable comments about a public representative on social media, in a move the commissioner said reflects the department's zero tolerance for indiscipline.
The constable, identified as K Anil, belongs to the 2018 batch and was serving on temporary assignment at the Hyderabad City Armed Reserve headquarters, away from his base unit at Cyberabad CAR, when the posts came to light.
CP Ramesh made clear that every member of the police department is expected to maintain discipline, professional conduct, and a respectful demeanour at all times. He specifically called on personnel to act with responsibility and restraint when using social media platforms.
Anil was placed under suspension in accordance with applicable departmental regulations. The action follows a finding that his conduct had damaged the reputation of the Cyberabad Police department.
