Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has categorically denied reports circulating online about an alleged bomb threat involving an international flight arriving in Hyderabad, calling the claims false and misleading.
In an official clarification, airport authorities stated that no bomb threat was received and that there was no security incident related to any incoming or outgoing flight at the airport. Officials said reports suggesting an emergency response or bomb scare were inaccurate.
Rumours circulating on social media claimed that an email warning of an explosive device aboard a Riyadh–Hyderabad flight had prompted emergency procedures, including the evacuation of passengers and a security inspection. However, RGIA officials clarified that no such email was received and that no bomb disposal or emergency operation took place.
Airport authorities emphasized that all airport operations continued as normal and there was no disruption to flight services due to any bomb threat. They urged passengers and the general public not to believe or circulate unverified information that could create unnecessary panic.
Officials reiterated that security at Hyderabad airport remains robust and that any genuine threat is handled according to established aviation security protocols. They added that verified information regarding airport safety or security-related incidents will always be communicated through official channels.
The airport administration also appealed to media platforms and social media users to verify information before sharing it publicly. False reports, officials warned, can lead to confusion among passengers and unnecessary concern for their families.
