Hyderabad: Overflowing Drains, Muddy Road Trouble Tolichowki Residents

Hyderabad: Overflowing drains and an incomplete, muddy road near Paramount Colony Gate No. 3 in Tolichowki have become a source of inconvenience for residents, with stagnant wastewater affecting movement along the stretch.

Residents said wastewater has been continuously flowing onto the road, leaving parts of the stretch waterlogged and difficult for pedestrians and motorists to navigate.

They said children regularly use the affected road while travelling to school and other places, raising concerns about their exposure to stagnant and potentially contaminated water.

Mohd Rehan, a resident, said the drainage issue had persisted for a long time, with wastewater repeatedly spilling onto the road. Residents also said passing vehicles frequently splash dirty water onto pedestrians and two-wheeler riders.

Another resident, Kashif Syed, said several attempts had been made to get the road repaired but the problem remained unresolved. While a portion of the road has reportedly been laid, the remaining stretch is still incomplete, leaving the area muddy and uneven.

Residents have urged civic authorities to repair the drainage system, remove stagnant wastewater and complete the pending road work.

They also called for an inspection of the area and measures to prevent recurring drain overflow, citing concerns over public health, pedestrian safety and daily movement in the locality.
