Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police have warned service apartment owners and managers to properly verify guests and the purpose of bookings after recent raids found some properties allegedly being used for gatherings linked to illegal activities, including gambling.
Madhapur Inspector K V Subba Rao said some service apartments were being rented for birthday parties and other events without owners or managers adequately checking the purpose of the gatherings or the identities of those using the premises.
Police advised owners, managers and leaseholders to collect relevant details from people booking service apartments before allowing them to use the facilities.
They were specifically asked to verify who would be using the property, the expected number of people and the purpose of the visit.
Inspector Rao also warned that owners and leaseholders could face police action if illegal activities are found to have taken place on their premises.
The advisory comes amid police checks on service apartments and other short-term rental properties in Hyderabad.
