Hyderabad: Thousands of voters across Hyderabad could soon receive official notices from election authorities as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Officials are expected to begin issuing notices from August 17, following the completion of the current voter enumeration exercise.
The Special Intensive Revision is being carried out to improve the accuracy of electoral records before the publication of the final voter list. During this process, election officials verify the details of registered voters and identify records that may require additional clarification or supporting documents.
According to officials familiar with the revision process, notices are likely to be served only to those voters whose records contain discrepancies, incomplete information or issues that require further verification. The exercise is intended to ensure that eligible voters remain on the rolls while maintaining the integrity of the electoral database.
Authorities have indicated that the verification drive is progressing according to the revised schedule. The Election Commission has already extended the timeline for the exercise twice, giving officials additional time to complete field verification and data collection. At present, another extension appears unlikely as preparations continue for the next stage of the revision process.
