Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has taken action to safeguard a large parcel of government land near the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Madhapur after detecting encroachment attempts.
Officials said the property, spread across nearly five acres in Khanamet village, is located in one of Hyderabad's most valuable commercial areas. Due to its proximity to the city's IT and business hub, the land is estimated to be worth around ₹1,000 crore.
Following inspections, HYDRAA teams moved to secure the site by removing unauthorized occupations and taking preventive measures to stop further encroachment. Authorities also installed fencing and warning boards around the property.
Officials stated that the operation was carried out to protect government assets and ensure that public land is not misused for illegal construction or occupation.
HYDRAA has intensified efforts across Hyderabad to identify and protect government properties, public spaces, lakes and other lands from unauthorized use. The agency said similar drives will continue in different parts of the city to preserve valuable public assets.
Authorities reiterated that strict action would be taken against those found attempting to occupy government land illegally.
