Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Hyderabad and many parts of Telangana over the next few days. According to the latest weather update, rain activity is expected to continue until July 4 as the southwest monsoon remains active across the state.
The weather department said Hyderabad is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall on most days, while a few areas may receive heavy showers. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are also expected in isolated locations.
Several districts across Telangana are likely to experience widespread rainfall during this period. Weather officials have advised people to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas where waterlogging may occur after heavy rain.
The IMD has also warned that heavy showers could affect traffic movement, reduce visibility on roads and cause delays in daily travel. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall and stay indoors during thunderstorms.
Motorists have been asked to drive carefully on wet roads, while people are advised to stay away from open drains, flooded areas and places prone to lightning strikes.
The rainfall is expected to bring relief from the recent warm weather, but authorities have urged citizens to keep track of official weather updates and follow safety instructions until the rain activity weakens.
