Jubilee Hills Inspector Suspended Over Lapses in Konda Surekha OSD Case

Hyderaba  Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar has suspended Jubilee Hills Inspector M Muttu Yadav for alleged negligence in handling the case against N Sumanth, the former OSD to Telangana Minister Konda Surekha.

Sajjanar ordered the suspension after finding serious lapses in the registration of the FIR and in the efforts to apprehend Sumanth, who continues to remain absconding.

The case was registered after real estate businessman G Hari Krishna alleged that Sumanth and his associates attacked him with iron rods and threatened him. A zero FIR was initially registered at Medipally Police Station and later transferred to Jubilee Hills Police Station on jurisdictional grounds.

The Khairatabad Task Force subsequently arrested three suspects, identified as Arun Kumar, Mahender Reddy and Karthik Reddy, from Andhra Pradesh and handed them over to Jubilee Hills police.

The suspension of Yadav comes nearly four weeks after he assumed charge of the high-profile Jubilee Hills police station. It follows heightened scrutiny over how the Sumanth case has been handled, with authorities flagging both the delay in registering the case and the absence of timely action to trace the main accused.
