Karimnagar: One person was killed and three others were injured after a car crashed into a bus stand at Shalpally in Huzurabad mandal of Telangana’s Karimnagar district on Thursday, October 15.
The accident reportedly occurred around 5:40 pm when the car lost control, struck the bus stand and overturned. CCTV footage of the incident reportedly showed the vehicle taking a sharp turn shortly before the crash.
Driver Dies, Three Others Injured
Police identified the deceased driver as Sai Kiran. The three other occupants were identified as Ravi Teja, Deepak and Santosh. According to the available information, Santosh sustained minor injuries, while the other injured occupants were taken to Jammikunta Government Hospital for treatment.
The occupants were reportedly from Jammikunta town and Reddipalli village in Veenavanka mandal.
Police Register Case
Huzurabad Town Police Circle Inspector T Karunakar told Siasat.com that the accident took place at around 5:40 pm. Police registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the death allegedly caused by rash and negligent driving.
Police said the driver was suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol. The circumstances of the crash and the details of those involved remain subject to investigation.
