Medak: Ramayampet Farmers Protest Unscheduled Power Cuts

Medak: Farmers from Ramayampet protested against alleged unscheduled power cuts on Saturday, staging a demonstration on the main road near the electricity sub-station.

The farmers claimed they were receiving barely four hours of electricity supply for agricultural activities, despite the State government’s stated commitment to providing 12-hour power supply to the farming sector.

They said inadequate electricity was affecting irrigation and causing crops to wither. The farmers demanded that authorities ensure at least 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply to help protect their agricultural produce.

The protesters warned that continued power shortages could result in further crop damage and financial losses for farmers.

Police intervened and persuaded the farmers to withdraw the protest after assuring them that their concerns would be brought to the attention of Transco officials.

The farmers urged electricity authorities to address the issue and restore adequate power supply to agricultural connections.
