Hyderabad, June 20: Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, has called for stronger implementation of government welfare programmes aimed at improving the lives of women and children across the state.
Addressing a state-level review meeting in Hyderabad, the Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to eliminate child marriages, prevent child abuse, and ensure the safety and well-being of children. She directed officials to focus on reaching every eligible beneficiary through welfare initiatives and to strengthen grassroots-level monitoring mechanisms.
Seethakka highlighted the importance of programmes such as Mission Vatsalya, Saksham Anganwadi, and Mission Shakti in providing protection, education, healthcare, and nutritional support to children, women, and vulnerable families.
The Minister also stressed the need for timely intervention in cases involving children in distress and instructed officials to enhance awareness campaigns at the community level. She said government schemes should effectively reach people and contribute to positive social change.
Praising districts that have made progress in reducing child marriages, Seethakka urged officials to replicate successful models across Telangana and work towards achieving a child marriage-free state.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials from the Women and Child Welfare Department, child protection agencies, and district-level representatives from across Telangana.
