Hyderabad: The Telangana Excise Department registered 841 cases and arrested 651 individuals during a special 10-day enforcement drive conducted across the state.
The operation targeted illegal liquor production, transportation, sale, and other violations related to excise laws. Excise teams carried out inspections and raids at multiple locations as part of the crackdown.
During the drive, officials seized illicit liquor, raw materials used for its manufacture, and other prohibited substances. Authorities said the campaign was launched to curb unlawful activities and strengthen enforcement measures across Telangana.
Excise officials stated that strict action will continue against those involved in illegal liquor trade and other offences falling under the department's jurisdiction.
The department also appealed to the public to cooperate with enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activities related to the sale or distribution of illegal liquor.
