Telangana High Court Pulls Up Education Secretary for Skipping Court Hearing

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has strongly criticized the state's Education Secretary for not appearing before the court despite being instructed to attend a hearing.

During the proceedings, the court questioned why the senior official failed to appear and said government officers are expected to follow court directions without exception.

The government informed the court that the Education Secretary was unable to attend because of official commitments. However, the judges were not satisfied with the explanation and observed that judicial orders must be given due importance.

The High Court stressed that public officials have a responsibility to respect the judicial process and cooperate whenever their presence is required.

The bench directed the state government to ensure that the Education Secretary appears before the court on the next date of hearing and provides an explanation.

The matter remains pending, and further proceedings will continue after the official appears before the court.
