<p>Hyderabad's food safety watchdog TG SAFE uncovered stale meat at a popular KPHB eatery during a surprise inspection drive on Wednesday, September 9.</p>
<p>Officials from the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs conducted the raid at Bhulakshmi Mess, a well-known restaurant located in the Kukatpally Housing Board area beside Lulu Mall. Videos from the inspection show restaurant workers discarding stale chicken and mutton into bins under the watch of food safety officials.</p>
<p>A total of 30 kilograms of mutton and 20 kilograms of chicken were found to be unfit for consumption and removed from the restaurant's kitchens.</p>
<p>The action at Bhulakshmi Mess was part of a wider special inspection drive that TG SAFE was conducting across restaurants, hotels and dhabas in Kukatpally. The drive underlines growing scrutiny of food hygiene standards at popular dining spots in the city.</p>
