Hyderabad: Two passengers were detained at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) after immigration officials allegedly discovered forged visas during routine document verification before their scheduled international journey.
Officials noticed irregularities while checking the passengers' travel documents and conducted a detailed examination. The verification process reportedly confirmed that the visas were not genuine.
Following the detection of the suspected forged documents, the passengers were taken into custody and handed over to the RGIA Police for further action.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine how the fake visas were obtained and whether any travel agents or organised visa fraud networks were involved.
Authorities have urged international travellers to verify the authenticity of their travel documents and obtain visas only through authorised channels to avoid legal complications.
