Zepto to Open Five Pragati Centres for Gig Workers Across Hyderabad

<p>Quick-commerce platform Zepto is set to open five Pragati Centres across Hyderabad, creating dedicated welfare spaces for gig workers from multiple delivery platforms during their working day.</p>
<p>Each centre will offer safe, all-weather resting space, clean drinking water, washroom access, first-aid support, mobile charging points and WiFi connectivity. The centres will also host periodic health camps and provide awareness around e-Shram registration for eligible gig and unorganised workers.</p>
<p>The Pragati Centres will be open to workers across platforms, covering quick commerce, food delivery, e-commerce, apparel and other last-mile delivery networks. Depending on locations jointly identified by the Telangana government and Zepto, each centre could receive hundreds of worker visits daily.</p>
<p>The initiative aims to address gaps in basic urban infrastructure for workers who spend the bulk of their day on the road.</p>
<p>Zepto Chief Operating Officer Vikas Sharma and Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday to formally establish the five centres across Hyderabad.</p>
