BRS Holds Mock Assembly Session to Protest MLA Suspensions

<p>The Bharat Rashtra Samithi staged a mock Assembly session in protest after its legislators were suspended from the ongoing Telangana monsoon session, with party working president K T Rama Rao sharply criticising the Congress government over the action.</p>
<p>KTR accused the state government of failing in its basic legislative duty. "Congress has made a complete mockery of what a legislature should do. Instead of discussing public issues, it has chosen the dictatorial path," he said.</p>
<p>The mock session was organised as a direct counter to the suspensions, with BRS framing it as an assertion of the right of elected representatives to raise matters of public concern. The party said the Congress government's decision to suspend its MLAs amounted to silencing the opposition rather than engaging with it on the floor of the House.</p>
